As a pastor or ministry leader, you feel called by God to empower your organizations and churches to reach their fullest potential and for the people you serve to thrive. It demands most of your time and energy, as well as constant reflection and growth.
Making things difficult, the life of a ministry leader is prone to isolation – many of your unique challenges cannot be voiced to members of the ministry, a spouse, or the board. Without the support they need, many ministry leaders ask, “How long can I continue to do this?”
No one can thrive alone. It takes God, and by His design, a community of others to support each other. The Leadership Connection gives pastors and ministry leaders a practical, confidential, and caring place to support other like-minded leaders and be supported by them.

What You Need to Know To Get Started Learning & Growing
What to expect in a group.
The Connection Group is a highly relational enterprise where affirmation, attentiveness, sensitivity and patience are prized. It is also an intellectual challenge to help sort through and interpret the depth, complexity and dynamics of the concerns that arise. The three components that make up the Leadership Connection Process include:
- Leadership Connection Groups: Facilitator and group members meet monthly with a group of 8-12 leaders to work on each other’s organizations and to have significant impact in the lives of those whom they lead and care.
- Leadership Coaching: Facilitators meet with each participant leader in monthly, one-on-one coaching session to work on implementing ministry plans, solve problems, check in on personal life concerns and frame challenges and opportunities they can bring back to the group for input.
- Organizational Development: For each group participant, facilitators can create a Leadership Team Assessment and a strategic plan for tackling the most important issues in their ministries. In addition, their congregation or board/council has the option to participate in a two-day offsite workshop to implement a year-long ministry plan at a highly reduced rate.
How you can expect to grow.
Each connection group focuses on three key objectives for leaders’ growth: support the call, strengthen every area of their life, and sharpen the skills for a leader’s personal and professional life.
Specifically, leaders can expect to:
- Gain clarity of their call based on the season of the leader’s life
- Receive highly practical advice and resources on their ministry challenges
- Be encouraged to work out of rest
- Experience deep connections to friends and peers
- Build a thriving marriage
What the training is for facilitator leaders.
Facilitators are trained in the sacred role of a shepherd, to come alongside to encourage, guide, draw out, and empower those in their Connection Groups. They are trained in servant leadership skills and approaches, and in particular, spiritual discernment, to help each ministry leader discover and pursue God’s specific call and actions in their lives.
